Above Images: A Male Magicicada cassini molting from Falling Waters Presbyrterian Church in Hedgesville, WV. 06/01/05
Notes: The Magicicada molting process took about an hour and a half. It's amazing how it emerged from it's exuvium a pinkish-white color. At this stage it is known as a "teneral". It will harden slowly and in the process turn completely black.
