At last, a viable alternative to Ebay. Here comes Toyplug.com, Mechaworx' newest link partner. We like this site so much that now you can see their banner displayed under the Recommended Sites to the left on every page of Mechaworx.com. Toyplug is a toy auction site that offers collectors and sellers an alternative to sell their new and vintage toys other than Ebay. As you may know Ebay is no longer "The World's Online Marketplace" its more like "The Worlds Online Flea Market." Sellers keep loosing money due to increased fees hand-over-fist and even collectors get ripped off due to items either never arriving or not as described and Ebay just laughs all the way to the bank.

What's great about Toyplug.com is that it's a Toy Fan site designed by Toy Fans. Toyplug.com offers tons of different toy categories for collectors of all types. The site boasts no fees whatsoever for standard listings. Mechaworx has been monitoring this site since its inception and found a lot of cool vintage action figures like Battlestar Galactica, Mego and Major Matt Mason. And you know what sellers? These toys actually sell! Even if they don't there's no charge and you can automatically renew your listing for another go round. How's that? Toyplug promises an easier process during the listing phase which would otherwise be time consuming if you were to post your items on Ebay.

So lets step up people. Sellers, learn something new, post your toy items on Toyplug.com. The more sellers who sell their items elsewhere will put a serious dent in Ebay profits which will hopefully be a wakeup call for them. There's nothing like free enterprise to spur on competition. Collectors, there's lots of cool vintage toys here and due to the site being relatively new, you won't have to fight others for your toys so don't let them get away.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Angry he is. Jason Scott wants his "Star Wars" collection back, including his 12-inch of a beast called a tauntaun and his C3PO and Darth Vader carrying cases.

And especially the original and rare "blue snaggletooth" figure that showed up in the first film's cantina scene.

Scott said Monday that he's posted a $1,000 reward for his stuff, which was stolen last week from his padlocked storage unit inside his Lincoln apartment building.

"These figures are vintage," he said. "Some were the hard-to-find 1985 figures" _ like a Death Star play set, for example.

Scott said he's posted reward notices around his apartment complex and remains hopeful, but the loss is uninsured.

He'd been collecting seriously since 1994, and he said his 92-piece collection of action figures is only five short of the 97 total. He estimated the 92 pieces together could fetch $3,500 or more in an Internet auction.

"It would be nice if the person just set the stuff back on my doorstep," Scott said. "Fifty percent of it is I want the person to get busted, but I want the stuff back more," he said.

George Lucas Speaks at Star Wars Convention

George Lucas made an appearance at Celebration III—the largest official Star Wars convention to date—in Indianapolis on Saturday, April 23, to talk about Star Wars: Episode III—Revenge of the Sith, the upcoming final installment in the film franchise, and other projects in development, the Associated Press reported. It was his first appearance at a convention since 1987.

Around 9,000 of the convention's 30,000 attendees lined up outside in rainy, 40-degree weather beginning Friday night at midnight for the announced session with the famously reclusive Star Wars creator. Jay Laga'aia, who plays Capt. Typho in the final two films (though Lucas misidentified him as a clone trooper), hosted the talk, which also featured producer Rick McCallum.

During the session, Lucas confirmed that there are two Star Wars television series in the works—a half-hour 3-D computer-animated series and a live-action series. The live-action series, which will feature minor characters from the films, will go into production in about a year. Lucas plans to write and film the first season all at once, he said. He also confirmed that Lucasfilm is working on an update of the Disney theme-park attraction Star Tours for the near future.

Beyond Star Wars, Lucas told the audience that he has received the script for the fourth Indiana Jones film and that co-producer Steven Spielberg is planning to direct it after he completes his next project.
